Anaheim homes
Old brick and tract chimneys, side by side
Anaheim has more residents than any other city in the county, and the housing shows it. Mid-century tract houses dominate the western neighborhoods, many with a single fireplace and a stack that has seen decades of sun and the odd wet winter. Those flues often need a close look at the liner and the crown.
Downtown is different. Three historic districts, the largest being the Anaheim Colony, hold older houses where the brick, mortar and flashing are original or patched many times over. On those homes a masonry repair plan usually starts with finding which joints are failing and why, before anything is replaced.

Why call us

Climate and upkeep
Dry summers, short heavy storms hard on crowns
Anaheim averages roughly 14 inches of rain a year, and most of it arrives in a handful of strong winter storms. Hairline cracks in a crown or a gap at the flashing can sit quiet for months, then let in a surprising amount of water in one night.
After a wet spell, check the ceiling and wall around the fireplace for staining and look for white mineral deposits on the brick. Those are early clues. A waterproofing treatment only makes sense once cracks and mortar gaps have been sealed first.
- Stains near the firebox
- Cracked or crumbling crown
- Rusted or loose cap
- Soot buildup after burning

FAQ
Anaheim chimney questions
Short replies to what people ask before they call. The full list is on the FAQ page.
Do the older downtown Anaheim houses need different chimney care?
Often, yes. Anaheim's downtown holds three historic districts, and houses there can have original brick, soft old mortar and many patched flashing lines. A technician checks which joints are failing before suggesting tuckpointing, since the wrong mortar can damage old brick.
Is rain really a problem in a dry city like Anaheim?
It can be. The city gets roughly 14 inches of rain a year, mostly in a few winter storms, so water arrives in bursts. A cracked crown or loose cap lets that water into the masonry quickly. An early inspection before winter catches those openings.
How do I know if my fireplace is gas or wood, and does it matter?
It matters for the work. Wood fireplaces build creosote and need regular sweeping. Gas units leave less soot but still need the flue, vent and connections checked. Tell us what you have when you call, and we will plan the visit around it.
How often should an Anaheim chimney be inspected?
The NFPA 211 standard asks for a yearly inspection of chimneys, fireplaces and vents. A fireplace that rarely gets lit still ages, since weather and animals do their damage whether or not a fire burns.
Can you work on homes in Anaheim Hills as well as the flatlands?
Yes, homes across the city are in our service area. Hillside houses can have steeper roof pitches, so mention the roof type at booking and we will plan how to reach the chimney safely.
